Ellinomatheia Exams and other Greek Language Accreditation Procedures
What is Ellinomatheia Exams?
The Certificate of Attainment in Greek, or Ellinomatheia, is the only certificate of proficiency in the Greek language that is offered and recognized by the Greek state. It was established in 1998 by the Greek Ministry of Education in order to meet the demands of learners of Greek in Greece and abroad. The Centre for the Greek Language (CGL) in Thessaloniki supervises and, in collaboration with officially recognized examination centers, administers examinations that test listening and reading comprehension, speaking, and writing. The Certificate can be obtained at each of the six proficiency levels (Α1, Α2, Β1, Β2, Γ1, Γ2) defined by the principles of the Common European Framework of Reference for Teaching Foreign Languages (CEFR). Our students receive the best support to preparation from Ellinomatheia expertise teachers of our school and actively and successfully participate in the exams for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language (Ελληνομάθεια) since 2001. Ellinomatheia exams are held once in a year at the end of May. For more information you can ask our teachers or the Principal. Also you can visit the site of Greek Language Center:
